Offenbach Koenigsberg Books
After the end of the war, the stolen libraries reached Offenbach, the Offenbach Archival Depot (photo). This was the central collection point for the literature stolen by the Nazis. More than 100 employees researched the ownership and over three million volumes were restituted. The holdings from Königsberg were also registered here. The list (photo) shows books from the Jewish Old People’s Home, the Literature Association, the Synagogue Library, the Hebrew Reading Association, the Jewish School, the Zionist Association and the Jewish Student Association. So the books had survived the war!
