Sensburg in East Prussia ist today Mrągowo in Poland

Polskie Radio Olsztyn, Dec 06 2018: “Magdalena Lewkowicz was honored for taking care of the memory of the Jewish community that once lived in these areas.

On her initiative, a plaque commemorating the Jewish cemetery in Mrągowo was unveiled this year. Magdalena Lewkowicz is also the author of an urban game entitled “Rabbi’s House”, which took first place in the national competition “Remembrance for the past”.

In 2016-2018 she was the deputy mayor of the district of Mragowo, now she is a councilor and teacher. The prize is awarded by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews POLIN.
