There were far more than 100 visitors to the Museum Night on May 20 at the Kaliningrad Synagogue. Not only was the museum open at night – guided tours of the synagogue were offered, there were lectures, and the kosher canteen also served the visitors. Fans, curious first-time visitors and tourists came. Some even said that this was their first time entering a synagogue after a very long period for the family.

The first special exhibition since the opening of the Jewish Museum “Farewell to Königsberg” tells the fates of Jews from the Königsberg region who left Germany from 1933. This exhibition is mobile and will be shown later in other places of the region, because it also contains family stories from Tilsit, Gumbinnen, Insterburg, Eydtkuhnen and Groß Kakschen.
We would like to thank the families who gave us a glimpse into their family albums and thus made this exhibition possible. Some pictures are presented to the public for the first time.
