A picture of the synagogue in Labiau (today Polessk in Russia) was found. The local historian Svetlana Chelnokova reports on her page “Sites of Jewish History in Kaliningrad/Königsberg” about a find in the C. V. – Zeitung, the general newspaper of Judaism (in German: Allgemeine Zeitung des Judentums) . An article from March 1930 reports about anti-Jewish riots in Labiau, the fence of the synagogue was repeatedly destroyed, the names of the perpetrators are mentioned. The synagogue is said to have been in the Schmiedestr. and was later destroyed during the pogrom night in November 1938.
